MFC Secretariat

The MFC Secretariat provides administrative and operational support to all areas of the Media Freedom Coalition’s work. It is responsible for ensuring the MFC runs smoothly and efficiently, so that the Coalition’s member countries can be as active as possible in promoting media freedom at home and abroad. It also leads on the MFC’s internal and external communications, facilitates decision-making, and seeks to understand and gather evidence of what difference the MFC is making.

In doing this work, the MFC Secretariat works closely with the Coalition’s stakeholders, including the Secretariat of the High Level Panel of Legal Experts on Media Freedom, the co-chairs of the Consultative Network, and UNESCO.

The MFC Secretariat is currently hosted by the Thomson Reuters Foundation and is supported by a grant from the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office.
