The Slovakia Media Freedom Conference will take place on Monday 20 February 2023 in the historical building of the National Council of the Slovak Republic in Župné nám, Bratislava, Slovakia.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic under the auspices of the Media Freedom Coalition (MFC), currently co-chaired by the governments of the Netherlands and Canada.
The conference will include panelists from the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), Reporters Without Borders (RSF), Dutch and Slovak governments as well as representatives from among media and journalists.
The Investigative Center of Ján Kuciak will present first results and findings of their survey on the safety of journalists in Slovakia.
Věra Jourová, Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency will give the closing keynote speech.
